Choose your own summer adventure – scavenger hunt at Battle Hill
Bring the whānau and explore Battle Hill Regional Park with a free, self-guided scavenger hunt you can complete anytime this summer!
Pick up your question sheet at the information sign near the main carpark. Work together to find the clues and answer the questions. You’ll walk through a working farm, meet the tuna/longfin eels in Horokiri Stream. Keep an eye out for our friendly chickens and guinea pigs. Spot native birds like kererū and tūī in the native bushwalk.
Pack a picnic and enjoy an afternoon on the farm!

Discover the incredible places right on your doorstep. For 25 years, Greater Wellington has been hosting recreational events in regional parks to help people connect with nature, get active outdoors, and enjoy time together.
Battle Hill Farm Forest Park is more than just a beautiful place—it’s a hub for conservation. Greater Wellington’s work here restores native bush, showcases farm animals for children, preserves historic sites, and helps build resilience to climate change. Our mana whenua partners, farmers, and volunteers play a vital role in keeping this park a special place for everyone.
