“Can you provide evidence of the works being carried out and number of workers contracted to
complete the work for every day the Kapiti Line train service is unable to complete a full
schedule (roughly 1/2 the days in each month there is some disruption). For February and March
2026 - including the four consecutive evenings most weeks where services are bus replaced
between Sunday and Wednesday’s after the 7.44pm service leaving Wellington (Mon-Weds).
Show evidence as to why the range of bus replacements are in place, as opposed to not limiting
to just a couple of stations (or alternating between wellington and Porirua/ Porirua and
waikanae). How many additional buses and bus drivers are having to be contracted to run the
replacement services, and why has RTI (real time information) tracking not been introduced on
said buses after a trial in January 2026?”
